The goal is to evenly distribute light on your face depending on your existing room/setup. Always consider the time of day. If you don’t want that to be an issue, you will need to consider a setup that will work with or without natural lighting.
Always face the window or wall that is lit with supplemental lighting
Turn off lights above you that create shadows under your forehead and nose features
Do NOT make your lighting too bright to wash out the natural tone of your face

If you are sitting / standing at a desk against the wall, you can light the wall and it can reflect on your face.
